Dirk Vos (Bennekom, 1929)

Born in Bennekom, Dirk moved after the second world war to Nijmegen and lives since 1998 in Amsterdam, where he has worked as a bartender and before his retirement as a librarian at the the Public Library.

Having seen great part of the western world, he lives now alone in his centric Amsterdam apartment. Thanks to his social life and weekly help from a friend, is he able to live independently.

A daily walk to the biological grocery shop and reading the newspapers at a nearby croissanterie, are part of his structured daily schedule.

Dirk used to move around Amsterdam by bike but he finds it now to dangerous, he rather walks with the help of his beautiful cane which his dear friend Evert made for him.
